Summer Loving at Lou Lou's

Summer in Cape Town is all about wining and dining while enjoying the incredible weather and one of our favourite spots for lunch or after-work cocktails is Lou Lou's situated in the popular Cape Quarter Center. 

They recently invited us to try some of their signature dishes and cocktails for summer and you are in for a treat! Have a look at some of their tried and tested items on the menu that we highly recommend: 

COCKTAILS: 

Lou Lou's has a divine selection of cocktails with my personal favourite The Porn Star Martini which you simply HAVE to try - it's absolutely incredible and who doesn't love a cocktail that comes with a shot of bubbly! 

STARTERS: 

Our starters bursted with flavour and if I had to recommend one starter from the menu, the Seared Tuna is a must! It's perfect for a hot summer's day and the sauce that comes with it is simply delish! 

Arancini: Mushroom and Truffle risotto balls on a creamy Parmesan sauce. 

Seared Spice Tuna: Rolled in 7 spices, thinly sliced with a lime mayo

MAINS: 

You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting your main course. Our waiter suggested these two very popular dishes and it's obvious why they are favourites on the menu: 

Linguine Ai Gamberi: deshelled wild Argentinian prawns with a touch of napolitana sauce, a drop of cream and a hint of chili, garlic and parsley 

I don't have the exact name of this steak on their lunch menu, but it was an unexpected surprise especially with all the Asian flavours! It's fresh and the perfect way to serve steak in summer! Definitely ask for the signature steak dish on their current lunch menu! 

DESSERT: 

If it's your cheat day and you crave something sweet, pop in to Lou Lou's and try their cheesecake! The passion fruit and berry coulis together with the vanilla ice-cream really elevates your basic cheesecake and it was the perfect ending to our meal! For the chocoholics, you can never go wrong with a good old chocolate brownie. 

A good restaurant in Cape Town lasts a season or two but any restaurant that lasts longer than 2 years is a great restaurant and I must say, Lou Lou's has become a household name for Thursday night cocktails with the girls or in our case, lunch dates!
